“MY SUPER POWER”

The following is A winning entry from the Glenn Gentrey Writing Contest. A huge thank you to all who entered, and congratulations to our three winners!

One morning, I woke up, and I felt so different like I had magic in my blood.  That night I was eating, and my teeth were sharper than usual.  When I was racing my little brother I ran up the stairs.  I was way faster than normal.  I was kind of worried, so I Googled my symptoms, and that's all a cheetah would have! I started growing a tail!  Then, a thick layer of fur.

I turned into a cheetah.

My mom was coming into my room to check on me, so I hopped into my bed and got a makeup brush so if she asked why I looked like a cheetah, I could say I was painting my face.  She left my door cracked open. So I laid there and laid there until morning.

I wasn’t a cheetah anymore.

I was so relieved.  But I thought to myself, it’s going to happen the next night.
